How much $$$ should we plan for an open bar?
We're getting married at a venue where we will bring our own booze to serve to guests. We're having 120-140 people and I would like to offer an open, but limited bar. We're thinking about getting the standard selection of vodka, gin, rum, whiskey and tequila, plus a decent selection of mixers to give the bar tender some range. Then get a keg or two of beer and the right amount of wine for whatever that number of people specifies. We're having buffet dinner and I don't expect for us to plow through wine during dinner, but I'm not sure to be honest. Given this arrangement (us buying the booze), how much should we plan to spend to have a good party? People talk about containing the cost of booze by limiting choice and having a few signature cocktails available. How does this save money? Does this just limit the possibility of having a bunch of half bottles left over at the end? |
