Where would you go if you wanted to get away from it all and write?

Take a trip on Amtrack and pay the little extra for biz class. You'll get a ton done.

If I had the leisure, I'd go to the San Juans, probably Orcas island. Beautiful and peaceful, it's close enough to not be a major trek and far enough to feel "away from it all".

While I do like a classic cafe (Allegro!), the real answer is --

Between a pair of really large obnoxious headphones (and behind a door that locks).

Writing doesn't require location change, but silence (or music drowning out all but fire engines) and a lack of interruptions are golden. Stephen King and Chris Baty both say so - good enough for me. The clean, well-lit place and bottle of chianti cliches of old drunk writers aren't required. And slightly successful Jo Rowling wrote her first few books on lunch breaks while teaching, on commuter train trips, and at noisy cafes.

Now, if you're up graveyard hours, I may see you at the Hurricane Cafe or Beth's where I've been occasional found with pad & pencil or laptop. ;)

A bare room, with nothing but a chair, desk, and typewriter.
