Is it safe to eat the leftover egg from breading?

I'm breading some chicken. I dredge the raw chicken legs in flour and pepper, then in scrambled raw egg, then in panko. Now they're cooking on my stove.

However, I overestimated the amount of egg I'd need and I have some leftover. If I make sure to cook it thoroughly, is it safe to eat the egg after I'd dunked raw chicken in it?

I can't see a reason why not, but anything involving raw chicken sends up red flags for me, so I thought I'd check.

Thoroughly cooked, like dry scrambled, should be fine as I see it.

We have to stop meeting like this.

Sure, but make sure you cook it first!
