Can someone reccomend a good optometrist in Seattle, preferably one with designer glasses?

You should go to Eyes on Fremont, absolutely. Everyone I know who gets there glasses there raves about it, including myself. They will give you a LOT of attention, they have the latest designer frames and many experienced stylists to help fit you. You won't regret it.

Get you prescription from an ophthalmologist and ask for your PD. Then save yourself literally hundreds of dollars and buy your glasses online. I went this route and got a pair glasses that look pretty slick for about 30 bucks.

See GlassyEyes.com for some more information.

Virgina Mason has a great optometry department and a very nice eyeglass store. If you have complex problems with your eyes there are additional resources on site like surgeons and other specialists. This came in handy once when they found something odd on one of my eyes. I moved up the chain of specialists without having to make an additional appointment.

I like Broadway Vision too. And the doctors are good.

Due to an FSA (Flexible Spending Account)through work, I've had more money to spend on things like glasses at the end of the year for the last couple of years and not had to worry about price tags as much. This helps, of course.

But I've gotten glasses there that have gotten me more unsolicited compliments on my specs than I have ever experienced in my life.

I like the Phillipe Starck/Alain Mikli frames from France, but the glasses I've gotten the most reaction to are a pair of very cool Prodesign:Denmark frames that I found there.

I was at the Seattle Erotic Art Festival earlier this month, and that was the one single thing that people said to me the most. "What cool glasses!" "I've got specs envy."

I don't know about the doctors at Broadway Vision Source (on Pike) But Warren and John who are stylists, maybe opticians, are terrific.
