Why does the prostrate make anal sex better for men than women? Or is that a myth?

I don't really know the mechanics of why it works during anal penetration. Is it like a P-spot thing? lol But...seriously. And if it is so good, why aren't all men doing anal?

    Because our culture associates it with being gay, and that scares most men.

    And yes, for some men it really is that good. Done right, I can have about 10+ orgasms and then STILL have a normal orgasm from sex.

    It is...quite amazing.

    Prostate stimulation is unique to men. The mechanics are as simple as "rub it and it feels great"

    There are lots of reasons why surprisingly few men are into it. Only about half of gay guys even like it. The ass is a place of deep emotional and cultural issues. There are also the mechanics of it that can be a real turn-off. Looking at the long list of recommended procedures and practices that Dan suggests for anal sex, is reason enough to avoid it.

    There are many great and wonderful things in life that are too much trouble for most people to bother with. That doesn't diminish their greatness.

    I think most men are apprehensive based on the cultural associations of it (even though only about 50% of gay men participate in anal sex and it has been rising steadily amongst heterosexual couples over the last several years), the "gay" of it prevents some men from admitting any interest in anal sex, let alone actually asking a partner. The prep, potential for mess and "things-only-come-out-of-that-hole" ideas also contribute to hesitation.

    As for the mechanics, I think it can be likened to the difference between a clitoral (penis) orgasm versus a g-spot (prostate) orgasm. They are entirely different creatures. I like the "P-spot" term--very accurate.

    Anal ain't for everyone, Kristin.

    Personally, I believe it is a learned association with pleasure or sexual arousal. (Not to contradiction others here who may rave about it... it may be great for them.)

    There's little doubt that one can include prostate stimulation into sexual arousal or sex play or intercourse. So, you CAN become aroused by pressure on the prostate... and as part of a person's personal exploration of their sexuality and response, it's good to know what turns you on, and what doesn't.

    But I don't understand those who say it's the be all and end all for them. It just seems to me that there are other places that i'd rather be rubbed and stimulated. ;-}
