Why does my #$)&%(#@# cursor on my laptop keep jumping randomly around the screen?

Goddamn, this is frustrating....

I'll be typing along on the MSI laptop, and without warning, the cursor will jump to an arbitrary place on the screen in the document that I'm typing, and I'll continue typing...inserting words right in the middle of the damn paragraph or sentence.

It seems like if I pause for a second or two, it's more likely to do this, and it frequently will return to the same spot...like it's got a memory or something.

ARRGHHHH! How do I make it stop!! Or is it a flaw with this brank of laptop? (Happens with anytype of document or program that I'm running.)

You are probably accidentally touching the touchpad with the bottom of your hand or the touchstick with your hand. If you have a separate mouse, you should be able to disable both the touchpad and the touchstick. If you don't you should be able to disable the touchstick and reduce the sensitivity on the touchpad. And yes, this is a fairly common problem with Dells.

I had this problem with my new laptop and it was purely caused by extra sensitivity in the touchpad. You have to go to your touchpad developers website and download their software. Some laptops don't come with it already installed.

My laptop is Synaptics, so I just went to their site and downloaded their software. If you already have it installed, just go to your touchpad options and adjust the sensitivity settings. That should fix it.

Your thumbs are probably hitting your cursor pad, it's happened to me before. If your laptop is lime mine there is a button right near the pad that can turn off your sensor pad while you type. Hope this helps, good luck.
