Community musical theatre compensation question

I was recently asked to play in a new musical for the local repertory (i.e. community) theatre. For reference, I live in a city the same size as Seattle. When I asked about the pay, I was told that I would get $130 to play in 20 services (tech week, dress rehearsals, all shows, etc.). I declined and told the director that the paltry/insulting compensation was why. He asked me what would be more realistic for future productions and I'm doing some research.

So, Seattlelites, what do pit musicians get for playing musicals for community theatre shows in your area? I know it varies, but I want an idea of what other similar-sized markets offer.

Thanks!

For community theater stuff, about $25 per rehearsal and $50 per performance. Terrible.
