why does my cheesecake crust get soggy?

ok, i cheat. i use a premade pie crust. but i am dissapointed with the texture. crust seems to absorb moisture from the filling and get soggy in the middle rather than staying firm like the sides. is there a way to prevent this from happening. i noticed this doesn't happen with my homemade crust (and yeah, so make my own you say) but why does it happen with the premade?... any thoughts or suggestions?...

Do you use glass or metal pie pans? I find that glass pans cook even premade pie crust better than metal. I believe it has something to do with the radiant energy being reflected by the metal.

Are you cooking at the proper temp? Cheesecakes are typically cooked around 550 so everything sets quickly.

Another trick that I've seen is to put a cookie sheet in the oven so it heats up and helps cook the bottom of your cake or pie.
