What is a deposit record (and how should it be used)?

(I promise, I already Googled this and did not find anything on this. I also promise I used QL's search feature and didn't find anything either.)

You know, that first page of a check record/register (whatever you would like to call it). Nothing is labeled on it, so I have no idea. Or is it more for businesses and such?

Thanks so much.

It's self descriptive. The register is for both deposits and check deductions. The assumption is that you will have many more check deduction than deposits. So to be able to find your deposit info quickly there is a separate record. No one under 60 or 70 uses it. Heck, even I only write one or two checks a month at the most.

Businesses could use it as well, of course.
