What six CDs should I load into my new car?

I just bought a car that has a six-disk CD changer. Since it's kind of a pain to change them, what six CDs should I put into it, and leave in there forever? This really needs to be a best-of-everything list that I'll never get sick of, and potentially account for any mood. It's an older car, so it can't read mp3 CDs.

I played this game in my car too and, if I had to do it again, this is what I would choose (in no particular order):

    1) Pixies - Doolittle
    2) Daft Punk - Discovery
    3) The Mountain Goats - The Sunset Tree
    4) Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique
    5) Girl Talk - Feed the Animals (maybe All Day)

Man that last choice is hard... Pretty Hate Machine? The Man in Black? Decksanddrumsandrockandroll? Dead Ringer? Add It Up? Illmatic? Cross? St. Elsewhere? Tigermilk? The Cars? One of those... probably.

What a strange question! We have no idea what kind of music you like!

    But ok. I'll bite.

    Illinois by Sufjian Stevens
    OK Computer by Radiohead
    Yankee Hotel Foxtrot by Wilco
Reckless Nights and Turkish Delights by the Raymond Scott Quintet
White Pepper or maybe Chocolate & Cheese by Ween.
Chutes too Narrow by the Shins

    This is impossible.

    Blink-182 Greatest Hits
    Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
The Shins (don't think they have a "greatest hits" yet, but personally I can listen to any of their albums over and over!)
    Sublime
Bob Marley (always cheers me up!)
    Red Hot Chili Peppers

It really depends on what types of music you like, how old your are, etc. but in the absence of that info, here's what I (45 yr old Male) would do based on the music I like:

    "Blue" Joni Mitchell
    "Kind of Blue" Miles Davis
"Houses of the Holy" Led Zeppelin
    "Whatever's For Us" Joan Armatrading
    "Revolver" The Beatles
"The Violent Femmes" The Violent Femmes
