What comics do you recommend?

I am a huge fan of Garth Ennis, Eric Powell, Robert Kirkman to name a few. I work at the UW and check out their collection of graphic novels quite a bit but I can get a bit overwhelmed just walking into a comic shop and trying to pick out something new to get into.
What do you recommend for someone with a dark sense of humor? I really only enjoy reading collected graphic novels and don't have the patience for monthly issues.

I highly recommend Chew by John Layman, which follows the life of Tony Chu, a detective who gets psychic impressions from the things he eats. He ends up having to put some pretty horrible things into his mouth but the comic is fantastic.

I also really enjoyed Sweet Tooth, by Jeff Lemire. It's a post-apocalyptic novel about human/animal hybrids and the people who want them dead.

If you haven't read them already, you should check out Transmetropolitan by Warren Ellis and The Invisibles by Grant Morrison. They've both been out for a while but are extraordinary.

On my current to be read pile is Stumptown by Greg Rucka and Scalped by Jason Aaron, both of which look really good.

Hopefully that will set you up for a bit, but if you need some more recommends I'm sure I can come up with some more.
