Gregoires punting on the latest round of legislation has thrown the dispensaries in WA out of compliance with federal law, and thus they do have negative exposure to federal (and state and local) law enforcement. All of the dispensaries I have heard about having issues have been in Spokane, which is a different region than Seattle for federal law enforcement. For example, there are both Seattle and Spokane offices of the FBI, and I would imagine the DEA as well, as well as different federal prosecutors offices. I'd imagine that there is some gray area around the sensibilities of the federal prosecutors and law enforcement relative to the area they operate in and the politics thereof. So, while technically they are certainly at risk, it's probably a wait and see approach. Or, you could do what I do and have a bearded hippy in a 4runner come to you as your dispensary. I'd check out the monthly Farmer Market held in Seattle, and advertised in the Stranger. And stock up ;)

I've heard poor things about the behind-the-scenes business practices of dispensaries, but that's just their particular office/accounting skills, not with any legislation/regulation.
