Where can I find currywurst in Seattle?

Just got back from Berlin and loved this stuff.  Yelp, Google, Stranger have provided a few limited and/or leads, but am looking for the definitive answer!

My understanding is that the currywurst available here pales in comparison to Berlin.

However, yes, you can find it at Feierabend (in South Lake Union), Prost! on Phinney Ridge, or any other restaurant owned by the same folks.

The People's Pub in Ballard also has currywurst.

It's nothing compared to Curry 36 in Mehrringdamplatz, but you can always buy some Bockwurst and make it yourself, Alter :) Brown an onion in oil (I prefer caramelized) and add 1-2 tbs curry powder and a pinch of cayenne. Mash a can of stewed tomatoes, add vinegar and sugar, salt to taste, and reduce over a medium-low heat.

In a pinch, you can substitute ketchup for the tomatoes/sugar/vinegar. That was actually the origin of the Currywurst - after the War, people in Berlin had little to eat but American ketchup, so they decided to add curry powder and make it palatable.

I used to live in Berlin, and I can appreciate your craving! Die Bierstube does currywurst. Frites (next to Neumos) used to, but I've never checked if the Pike St Fish Fry carried on the tradition.Another great option is just hitting the Bavarian grocery store in the Market and buy your own bottle of curry ketchup!

I don't know if it's good, but they have it at Shultzy's (in the U district).
