Whats the copyright on quotes?

If I wan tto make and sell shirts with quotes sourced from our cultural epherma, in other words interviews, TV quotes etc. is that copyrighted material? PS All news sources, no scripted content. thanks

    Trademark, rather than copyright, is used for those purposes. Course, trademark usually involves a slogan for a product and other details. Consulting an attorney would be a good course of action.
