Can I import my personal files in Hotmail to Thunderbird?

I hate the web based email. I used to use Outlook for email. I had it somehow work with my @msn.com account. It was great, but it stopped working. I have it hooked up to Thunderbird, but I can't transfer the personal files from msn/hotmail. Is it possible to do and if so, how do you do it?
Thanks!

Are you talking about importing messages in a .PST (personal store) file on your hard drive?

If so, have you tried going to the Tools menu in Thunderbird, selecting Import..., clicking on the 'Mail' radio button, and selecting 'Outlook'?

    If not, try that.

If my assumptions are wrong, or if you don't see the commands I'm talking about, or it doesn't work, tell us what version of Thunderbird you're using, and where you have those messages stored.

Hi.. I'm not an expert at Thunderbird specifically, but I'll try to help. Just to make sure I understand the problem - You're using Thunderbird now with your @msn.com email, but there are some files that you can't access in Thunderbird? Is that right? Are these files emails, or some other kind of file? If you can describe the problem in specific steps - e.g. I open Thunderbird and see ____, I select _____, and I expect to see ____ but instead I see _____ - or something like that, I'll see what I can figure out.
