Rambley question about programming possibilitiesI've worked for 3 years in electrical test engineering, which involves a little bit of coding. I use software like MATLAB to run functions together to automate my test routines. I can do basics like making loops and using functions and talking to equipment via GPIB. I'm about to leave my job to follow my DH to Seattle. During my job search I would like to take the opportunity to learn some new skillz, and since programming was one of my favorite things, I'd like to go that direction. But that's where I get stuck. What should I study? I don't know what I'd like to produce at the end of a project, or what languages go with what applications. I'm looking for some broad perspective here. |
