Does it make any difference if I buy an i-pad at the apple store or the ATT store?

In the end there's no difference, you'll still have an iPad, and you should pay the same price. If you have any questions, the people at the Apple Store will know a LOT more about the device, and they'll be able to help you set it up more effectively, and probably won't try as hard to up-sell you on data plans and such. Personally, I would go with the Apple Store if there's one nearby, but if you know what you want and there's an AT&T store around the corner, you'll walk out with the same thing.

The AT&T store will likely have more off-brand accessories available. That's what we found when we upgraded our iPhones. The UW Bookstore also sells iPads and their accessories as well.

I agree with Mr. Hecht and would lean towards the Apple store. Their service is great and they will have you on file if anything goes amiss. ATT service blows.

As far as accessories are concerned do not ever buy them in the store - either store. You will find MUCH better deals for the EXACT same (or better) stuff online. These are impulse buys for people who already spent so much money and are excited and they are bad deals in most cases.

Also, you probably can't get the WIFI only model at the ATT store. I may be wrong about that.

+1 to the Apple Store. The product's the same, but the return policy will be better, if necessary.
