  2 0 They don't generally put big box stores like Best Buy in dense urban neighborhoods--they put them in the city fringe and the suburbs where the real estate is cheaper. You're going to have to choose: big selection (and cheap prices), or in the middle of the city.   2 0 You can go to the camera store at U Village. They should have what you are looking for. As much as I like buying online, it is important to hold a camera in your hand and see how it feels and whether the controls are accessible and understandable. Best Buy has a pretty large selection and Northgate isn't that far if you have a car. Not sure what kind of camera you are looking for. Easy point and click or high end DSLR. Point and click can pretty easily and safely be bought online because they are just little boxes.   1 0 In the South Lake Union area, check out Glazers. It's one of *the* camera stores in the Seattle area; more aimed at semi-pro to professionals, but AFAIK they have everything down to point-n-shoots also. (More accessories than you can shake a monopod at. Consider leaving one's credit card at home on your first visit here.) The nearest to a "big box" downtown is perhaps Office Depot - not as big as a regular big box, but does have some digital cameras. Not a "big selection", though. Also check out the Bartells, they have a selection of point-n-shoot digital cameras in their photo section. Again, not a "large" selection, but as good as you'll find downtown.
