Olympic Discovery Trail - road bike appropriate?

Is the portion of the Olympic Discovery Trail from Sequim to Port Angeles (approx. 25 mi.) appropriate for a road bike? Or is a mountain bike the way to go?

    It is paved so should be fine for a road bike. If you want to go even further west it looks like the trail is closed heading west out of Port Angeles through September.
