Where can I recycle old computer parts in Seattle?

I have an oldmonitor that no longer works and some decent speakers that have some shorted wires. Is there a place I can turn them in to be recycled?

Old monitors that don't work are a toxic waste hazard. There's a state program to collect them called "E-Cycle Washington". They have a website here http://www.ecy.wa.gov/programs/swfa/eproductrecycle/ where you can find drop-off spots -- any Staples, Office Depot, or Best Buy, plus a ton of other places will take it, like Goodwill.

Speakers are not included in the E-Cycle program. If they won't take them at the above sites, I'd just toss 'em.

RE-PC by the stadiums and down in Tukwila is probably the largest computer hardware recycler in the area. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned it.

For individuals or small businesses you would not have to pay to get rid of your monitor:

(this is news to me, I remember paying a fee a few times)

And they will take just about anything. I've dropped off entire truck fulls of retired datacenter equipment alongside entire cardboard boxes of cable spaghetti and they don't blink an eye. They love it.
