  2 0 Great question! The best advice (and not just for talking to little kids)is to keep it short and sweet - then repeat! No big producations needed. Talk in the car, on a walk, at the playground, dinner time, etc. 30 seconds is all you need each day. Read safety books together, share stories from your own childhood or play "what - if" games with your kids to make safety conversations fun and interactive with your child. By making safety talks a part of your normal conversations, kids will feel confortable coming to you to ask questions or share concerns - even when they have made a safety mistake.
