Best online trading platform?

Not looking to trade real high frequency, for value buying, so platform ease of use, security, customer svc, pricing are my criteria-thanks!

I am an infrequent trader and know their trade fees are higher than average, but Charles Schwab has slowly taken over my entire financial life over the last 5 years or so mainly due to excellent customer service. I started with 1 credit card (with amazing rewards/rates) and now they are my main bank for credit/brokerage/checking/savings.

They are a little bit old fashioned. A few months ago I would have said they are behind the times technologically, but then they started to catch up with a much nicer iPhone app (that you can deposit checks from too). Their account management website is pretty basic but 100% functional and fast.

They have brick and mortar branches but you have to make an appointment. I think the only one around here is in downtown Bellevue. 99% of your customer service happens over the phone. I've never had to wait to speak to someone, there is no phone-menu maze to get through to find a human, and I've always been totally happy with the call. Their customer service is structured, so you will have to be transferred if you need detailed, specific help, but the original person you talk to makes the call for you, tells the next person you're about to talk to what is going on, and then 3-ways the call to pass you off. You're not just transferred around calling queues repeating your story to every new person.

Anyway, sort of expensive rates, great customer service.
