It there a decent home printer?

Is there an inkjet printer on the market that lasts longer than 18 months?

Is there a place to angrily throw a dead HP printer that will get the attention of the overpaid HP executives who think that 18 months is a fine amount of time for their product to work?

If you're not wedded to inkjet or color, I can attest to the power of Brother laser printers. My current one has been running strong for over ten years, and they always get high marks from the review sites.

Don't buy an inkjet for any reason. They're disposable.

As others mention, buy a laser printer. They last longer, better built, and they will print for EVER.

The short answer is: not really.

But getting something better than HP is easy.

I have a Canon MX-870 and it's been working just fine. Like every printer the biggest issue is connecting it wirelessly. It's easy to do, but it is quirky and doesn't always work. If you plug it into your computer it's no problem.

It would be nice if it was a bit faster but otherwise it performs with no problem and I've had it for a couple of years.
