What's the best time of day to go in to licensing office to get my ID renewed tomorrow?

I need to renew my WA ID, and I'm wondering if anybody has tips on when the office (in downtown Seattle) is least likely to be crammed full of people. I just need to pay my fee and get a new pic snapped (my appearance has changed dramatically since I got my last card or I'd just pay the fee and order it online). I'll most likely be going in tomorrow (Friday- they're open from 8:30 to 4:30).

    I always go at 10 or 2.

10 is usually late enough in the morning that the crowd of people who were trying to get it done on their way to work has subsided, but the crowd trying to come in at lunch has not developed yet.

2 is usually late enough in the afternoon that the crowd of people who came in on their lunch break has subsided, but the crowd of people cutting out of work early to get it done on the way home has not yet developed.

You can check the wait times online at www.dol.wa.gov

I would go early in the day. Not right when it opens but a bit after so everything is working in full swing and you don't have to wait too long with the early birds. However I would plan to be out by eleven to avoid the rush.

However i don't think you can ever avoid a line there. Best to bring a book and tough it out.

Also you might be able to renew it online depending on your circumstances. http://www.dol.wa.gov/

I went in a couple months ago in the middle of the afternoon, and I was in and out in less than 20 mninutes.
