How many bracelets is too many bracelets?

I make a lot of braclets espically hemp ones. I have tons sitting around and end up wearing a lot of those I can't give away. I beginning to loose what ever eye I had for style. When do I start looking like a candy kid gone hippy? Right now I am wearing 4 large and 2 small. I think that might be one large too many...

I don't think it matters, because hemp bracelets are such a specific style item anyway.

That is to say, there are people in Seattle who would see ONE hemp bracelet and think, "Oh, that girl's a hipster-stoner." For this group (probably a large majority), there's really no difference between one or nine. I will say that they're not exactly the hallmark of "adult" style, so if it comes to a serious job interview, you might want to leave them all at home.

But other than that, who cares? To my mind, the gap isn't the difference between one and many, but between none and any.

l don't think it matters, really. lf that's your personal style, and you like it, do it! l'm a fan of bracelets, and if l can wear more than one together (which l usually can't because they're all so different it would look weird), l would.

That said, if you need to give some away, l'll volunteer! Actually, also, if you work with hemp, maybe we can chat at some point because l have a very simple hemp cowrie shell choker that l've had for years, and the hemp had gotten dirty and parts here and there are breaking that l have to re-tie with twine. l'd be willing to pay you if you could re-do the necklace for me; it's just a matter of threading.

Anything more than one is overdoing it, in my mind. Bracelets are accentuaters - they are meant to draw attention to a part of your body, and to play off your natural beauty in order to enhance it.

If people start wearing so many accentuaters that the items themselves become the only thing visible, I think it is very unattractive.

Much like necklaces. A single necklace can make a woman look AMAZING - not because of the necklace, but because of the way the necklace highlights her soft neck, her beautiful chest, the gentle curvature of shoulders-meeting-neckline. That is what makes it beautiful.

For bracelets, what makes them so damn beautiful and effective is the way they draw the eye to a woman's hands, her arms, her wrists. A lot gets conveyed by a person's hands but it is often ignored. A good bracelet brings to light the gentle elegance of what nature gave you. Wearing seven bracelets just confuses the issue and hides what good jewelery is meant to bring to people's attention.

It's like trying to show off how nice of a figure someone has by wearing fifteen different outfits. A single dress can make a woman look elegant and highlight her natural beauty. Fifteen outfits may make people realize what nice outfits you wear, but doesn't really do justice to the elegance of the person underneath or convey the power of a single well selected outfit.

But that is just my take as a guy. I look for simplicity in jewelery, and find the beauty is in the person underneath, not the shiny things she covers it with. Jewelry for me is about emphasizing the natural, not hiding it.
