Who can I pay to make me a shirt?

I've really been wanting some new button-down blouses from the fabric of my choice, like some splashy batiks or something. I have a husband and two close friends who sew and have half-heartedly offered to help for about 5 years, and nothing's come of it.

I'm tired of waiting and I just want to pay someone to do it for me. Is there a business where I can take fabric and have them whip something up? Recommendations?

I would go to Etsy.com and find a shop that makes clothing, and if you like what you see, just ask for a 'custom request' item. I have a shop and have gotten a lot of business through custom items. Hope that helps!

The staff at Nancy's Sewing Basket may be able to help you.

Alternately, you might be able to find a student from the apparel design program at Seattle Central or from the New York Fashion Academy in Ballard who might be able to help out.

My friend Ivy has a costume design degree and makes awesome vintage clothing on the side.
