Is steak still considered a rare treat to suppliment your diet?in the 1960s, my folks would grill out about once every week or so during the summers, using exactly 16 charcoal briquets in a hibatchi grill. My dad got pretty good at timing the steaks and could predict for my mom when they were ready to come off the grill. They always acted like steak was a special treat. But nowadays, I hear that anything charred (featuring blackened meat, skin, stripes, etc) is bad for you. What is the truth here? Is grill steak bad for one? Or is it the charcoal? As adults, not only do we not grill, but rarely can afford steaks. |
