best croissants in Seattle?

not croissant shaped bread - but flaky fall apart crumbs all over...any recommendations? I have found good croissants in outside of Cashmere surprisingly, but it is hit and miss around King County.

    Besalu.

    No contest.

Probably the best on the West Coast.

I'm going to have to be repetitive to knock the point home: Besalu!

Bakery Nouveau in West Seattle has to be in the running.

It's been a while since I was there, but based in my last visit, Cafe Besalu in Ballard should be on the list, too.

Two places you need to try- Cafe Besalu on 24th in Ballard, just a few blocks north of Market Street, and Bakery Nouveau on California in West Seattle.

I agree with you all -- Besalu's croissants are pretty awesome. However, I keep thinking that I should do a blind croissant-tasting at some point, with croissants from bakeries across the city (Besalu, Boulangerie Nantaise, Le Fournil, Macrina, etc., etc.). Because we DO have some great croissants here.
