Is there a bar in Western Washington that serves vajunka?

Koltiska is one brand name that I know sells to Washington but I have not found it anywhere and I don't like it enough to buy a case.

I don't know what vajunka is, but it sounds like something I shouldn't Google at work.

Huh, I've never heard of it. There are a lot of unusual Eastern European ethnic liquors bottled in the US in immigrant (now third or fourth generation) communities. Koltiska is made in Sheridan Wyoming. It sounds a lot like the Bohemian stuff I got that was made in Cleveland, can't remember the name of it. I found a recipe on the web that uses burnt sugar, cinnamon sticks, and Everclear.

The current cocktail craze and fashion for antique liquors is all about colonial America, not immigrant communities, unfortunately. You can find falernum anywhere but I've never seen vajunka in a bar (or anywhere else).

Time for a road trip to Idaho or California! Or mail order, perhaps? It's not particularly legal but not difficult to get away with either.
