How do you decide on a price for your own artwork?

    What workd for me is that you divide the hours spent working on the piece by the minutes spent weeping over your master of arts degree that week and subtract 120 dollars. If the number is less than zero, go read http://clientsfromhell.net/ and proceed to videos of kittens until you list a price higher than it's actually worth but say that you're open to haggling.

    The haggling part is extremely important.

    I found this helpful advice years ago:

    How much would someone have to pay you for a piece of your work that you wouldn't get to see anymore?

    Over the years there has been a greater increase in the amount of digital reproductions being sold under $100 versus original artwork as well; so don't price yourself too low.

    50 bucks an hour if it's good. up to 100/hour if it's Awesome.

    Or, whatever I need to make Rent that month.

    Whichever sells it.
