Cheap bike fitting?

My friend might need to get fitted by a pro. She's 5'4" and is having wrist pains from biking. She claims that getting fit by a pro is around $150.

But I've seen a lot of bike groups holding tune up events and riding classes. So I imagine there are events or groups to contact where she could get fitted for a price that isn't 1/3rd of the cost of rent.

I looked a the cascade bicycle club website but didn't see anything truly in the vein I/we are looking for. Theirs is the only bike org name I could think of off the top of my head. I remember there being a bike shop in capitol hill that refurbished bikes to give to the youth, seems like they'd be good to ask but I forget their name.

did you know that recycled cycles has a whole shop fulla nice boys and girls waiting to help? you're probably not going to buy anything. that's okay. just go in when they're not busy - weekday mornings or midday - and bring a six pack or a pint of ice cream. there's a tip jar if you forget to bring a treat. a ten spot will get you tons of attention, and those folks know what they're doing.

There's a part about wrist pain here, in all caps, w references: poppdbubb.blogspot.com. It's my hunch it could also be from the saddle being too far forward to the cranks, or other things that may cause hand pains.

Check out The Bikery (TheBikery.org). You can go in there and talk to knowledgeable people. They charge $5/hour for stand time, or you can volunteer in the shop and get $5/hour in shop credit. You can learn a lot that way and do work cheap. They don't directly fix anything for you, but they'll advise you on what to do. It's a very friendly environment.
