Where's the best place to buy a pizza stone?

Mine cracked in half, damn it.

I just purchased a lodge cast iron pizza pan. It does the same job as a pizza stone, but cleaning it is easier, it's less likely to crack, and it's more versatile. You can use the thing as a griddle on top of the stove. It was about $30 from Amazon.

pavingstone supply or Bedrock, both in Ballard. No need to give your money to Williams sonoma when all you really need is specific stone. Anyone there will help you as well.

Sutter Home and Hearth in Ballard is a great place. They do fireplaces and grills so they would have what you need. I've purchased from them and they are friendly and not pushy at all. You could just give them a call and ask them over the phone.

Best one I ever had was a long previously used kiln shelf, it was so much more dense and sturdy than the ceramic rounds I have seen for sale. I have not searched for a replacement nor do I know what that would cost, but I thought the story might be of some value.

Alas, I lost it in a move and have wondered what the best replacement would be.

Forno Bravo stones are 3/4" thick, and made out of some weird ceramic that heats up faster than a regular stone and holds heat much longer. They kick ass. Make sure you don't accidentally get one bigger than your oven or you won't be able to close the door. You couldn't crack or break it if you wanted to.
