Where can I get a tasty sheet cake?

The big kind with writing on it. I know basically any grocery store can provide this, but I would like to support a smaller or local business, and I would like to be assured that the person doing the decorating has enough IQ points not to turn it into a Cake Wrecks-style mess.

wtf and ick. I read the reviews online and looked forward to what I thought would be my first of many cakes to come from Borracchini. The kind of old-school which is only nostalgic because it was before we got wise; like Maxwell House for your morning coffee. The person I got it for didn't say one word. Our silence was a relief. No enthusiastc "did you like it!" and me repressing my desire to apologize for it.

Simply Desserts in Ballard makes a great sheet cake. I've ordered from them a couple times and have always been impressed with them.

Simply Desserts is in Fremont.

I personally dislike their cakes; I find them to be bland and subpar considering the price.

I like every dessert except cake. Pastry is made with flour; I love every kind of pie and tart. But yeah, my favorite dessert is stinky cheese. Just not a cake guy. The cake is bad, but the frosting is worse.
