  3 5 Because what the hell, right? Zen, Tao, whaevs... I'm pretty sure your life would undergo a lot less philosophical upheaval if you converted from Islam to Judaism than if you went from Taoism to Zen. If you're talking about that informal mush of whatever makes you feel warm inside and gives you deep thoughts when you smoke a bowl, well then Seattle itself is one big temple to that. If i was a computer science major and decided to sit in on a colloquium on the pop art movement would that make me indecisive? i haven't smoked pot for years sir. and just some further clarification - ch'an buddhism (the chinese predecessor of modern zen) was *born* from the influence of taosim and confucianism on early buddhism in the 1st century. read a book. your comparative religion background obviously leaves one wanting. Certainly you're in the right city for that.
