Do I need to get a halal turkey for Thanksgiving with the Muslims?

So dinner with the Muslims went so well I invited them to Thanksgiving. But I'm also going to have a couple of stray relatives and friends who are really, really attached to the idea of eating turkey on that day. I'm a vegetarian, but I'm willing to damn the torpedoes and full speed ahead with the turkey (surely it won't be awful with a vegetarian at the helm, right?), but I'm wondering if that turkey needs to be halal.

Also, a shout-out to the folks who answered my question a few days ago about what to do when they came to dinner. I got a lot of golden info, and I think it went off pretty well. Of course, a cat escaped and scared the heck out of my friend, but I sent them home with extra warm apple pie as a consolation. All in all, a great evening.

Since you've already had them over to dinner, why don't you just ask them? At this point you are building a relationship with them, and I think asking them directly is more respectful than asking us internet folks. (But if they eat halal, the answer is yes.)

For the turkey, if you don't mind straying from thanksgiving tradition check out Mark Bittman's Roast Turkey in 45 Minutes (video) and directions. I haven't tried the recipe but it looks really good.

If any of your other guests are bringing dishes, don't forget to ask if they are putting bacon in them. When I was a vegetarian that was one of the things that drove me to stop having thanksgiving dinner with family; people always put bacon or turkey bits in everything.
