What the cheapest source for a quality Star Trek Next Generation uniform?

Don't want a cheap, flimsey suit...but something I can wear multiple times, in different venues... Halloween party, science fiction convention, geek wedding, etc.

It's got to look reasonably correct... would love a blue one.

    I'm a doctor, not a seamstress.

So you wanna be a science officer, huh? Excellent choice. Unfortunately, you can have cheap or quality costumes, but not both. From painful experience, any cheap uniform you get will be made out of the nastiest, skeeziest polyester known to exist. I guarantee it.

If you're not in a hurry, it might be easiest to check out the vendors next time there's a Trek convention in town. It's always nice to try on the uniforms and feel the material in person.

If you decide to order online, there's several options out there:

    1. Costume Craze (http://www.costumecraze.com/index-trek.html ) has a HUGE selection, and the items are very reasonably priced.

    2. Halloween Express (http://www.halloweenexpress.com/star-trek-c-612.html ) has some as well...smaller selection, but some different things, like masks.

    3. If you want to make your own costume, this vendor on eBay (http://stores.ebay.com/Katarra8_Costumes_W0QQssPageNameZVIStoreHeaderLinksQQtZkm ) sells all the finicky stuff...trim, braid, pips, buttons, patches, insignias, etc.

    4. If you want a really bad-ass costume, Anovos (http://www.anovos.com/star-trek-tos/star-trek-tos-spock-tunic/ ) has the official ST replica license. Looks like they're not taking pre-orders at the moment, but you can write and find out when they'll start. Very expensive, but the best quality of the lot (and custom-made just for you).

    Good luck!

You could always rob Paul Allen's place. The man has an incredible collection of original series props, including costumes.

    Just kidding.
