Does a hit song really make you wanna go see a James Bond movie more?

For years, the producers of the James Bond series have alternated popular artists singing a hopefully hit song to attract an audience to the new James Bond film. Does this work for you?

Second question: Looking at the topics of these hit songs, how many have been about the villain of the film, James Bond, a love affair, or an affair gone sour?

Examples: Goldfinger, Thunderball, Man with the Golden Gun...all villain songs.

Live and Let Die...James Bond

Moonraker, For Your Eyes Only, All Time High, You Only Live Twice, We have All the Time in the World....Love Affairs

Diamonds Are Forever, GoldenEye, Live and Let Die...soured affairs.

Am I right? What do you think about the more modern songs/themes from the recent Bond movies? Do they fit this pattern? (I just don't understand the lyrics and find them "unmelodic" and un-singable.)

I find I usually like the songs more than most of the recent movies.

I don't base any of my movie going on whose playing the music, if turns out to have good music, bonus. But I also don't usually like hit songs, so I'm not the demographic they're looking for. I used to love movie previews, but now that they're about boiling every funny bit and plot point into 2 minutes ( usually with a hit song) it just turns me off. That said u do like the bond title sequences, they were doing some pretty cutting edge stuff for th time ( in the classic bonds) and it worked well with the song. In an instance where it's a song made for the movie I think that's a different thing than shoving a hit song in there and those songs become hits thru the movie not vice versa

I stopped going to see James Bond movies (or even watch them on Netflix) when Daniel Craig took over. Worst Bond and Bond movies ever.
