Comfy places to read in Seattle?

Preferably in the Cap hill/ downtown area. I just notice that most coffee shops have terrible, rock hard wooden chairs and would like to snuggle up somewhere warm to read that is not my house. Thoughts?

One of my favorite Seattle coffee shops is the Starbucks on the 40th floor of the Columbia Tower (or whatever they are calling that building this week). It's one of Seattle's best kept secrets. You get a free view, and the prices are the same as any other Starbucks.

I don't know if I'd call it cozy, but if you like to read somewhere where there's something to stare at out the window while you contemplate, this one is a winner.

I just love Jo Bar on Capitol Hill across from the Harvard Exit movie theatre. It's one of my favorite places to hang out and read on a rainy afternoon. There aren't any couches but the chairs in the upstairs balconies have cushions and you can put your legs up on the banister.

Bauhaus coffee is comfy in my book, hard chairs and all. I'd say the B&O, but...
I haven't been for a bit, but how about Victrola?

If you can get off the hill, the Cherry Street Coffee places are perfect for 'comfy' - they even have PILLOWS.

Some of the libraries in the city are pretty posh, but you wouldn't be able to drink things if you want a comerce free place that's kinda silent it's worth checking out a few of em
