Was Allen Carr's Easyway easy for you?

Just curious if there are any ex-smokers out there who successfully quit smoking after reading Allen Carr's Easyway to Stop Smoking. I've attempted to read the book twice and have not finished it. Also tried quitting cold turkey, the patch, gum, Wellbutrin, and electronic cigs. So far, nothing has worked. Only thing I haven't tried is acupuncture. Anyhow, I'm tempted to give the book another shot. Any insights? Thanks.

It worked amazingly well for me. I had a deal with a friend that she would stop bugging me about smoking if I read a chapter a week. I ended up reading it faster than that.. though not fast.

When I finished the book I quite smoking cold turkey. I had a bit of rough time for a few days. My friend told me to clean my balcony when things got tough. It worked amazingly well. Took my mind off of everything and I ended up with clean balcony as well. You could have eaten off of that thing.

I didn't smoke for a 2-3 years and had no problems. The week my father died I started smoking again. Not out of stress or need, but out of "who gives a shit". He died of lung cancer...

Short answer: read it slowly and do exactly what he says. Don't try quitting before you read it again. When he tells you to smoke (which he does at one point) to focus on what it tastes like. Do it. It works.

Final comment: I wanted to throw the book across the room for the first few chapters. It reads like a bad brochure (as you know).
