Am I able to BYOB into a restaurant that doesn't have a liquor license?

It stands to reason that I should be able to being alcohol into a business if they permit it. Liquor licensing is control over retail sales of alcohol, not necessarily absolutely over place of consumption.

I looked on the State site but couldn't find info and WA State is a bit uptight about alcohol. Anyone know for certain? Ideally with references?

If they allow it and it's not illegal, and you're willing to pay corkage fees, then you should be okay--

Allowage is a huge part of it -- For example- Key Arena, despite serving beer, doesn't allow outside beer, so you'd be subject to the old 'right to refuse service to anyone' clause

I think it's rcw66-24 that covers this, but its been a while since I had my food card and bartenders license

I'd call the place your planning to go to. I know in Philly most places posted it if you could byob ( usually on sandwich boards with the specials) because it was soooooo hard to get liquor licenses ( I'm pretty sure bribes were involved from discussions with friends in the bartending biz)

they were even more backward than wa ( even beer and wine had to come from a liquor store, but you could get Cary out-for a price- from bars) I did notice the closer you got to student areas the more you'd see the signs. Also they tended to write on the menus if it was allowed and if there was a charge. Most high end restraunts will allow you to bring a nice bottle of wine for the corkage fee, but lower end places may have issue with it
