What're the closest amusement park-style rides to the Seattle area?

I turn 30 this year (going on 5, apparently), and if I can manage to actually be IN Seattle on my birthday, I want to have a big party with all my friends. All day long. Hang out on the beach in Edmonds, a roller-skating session in Lynnwood, dinner at the Indian place on Roosevelt. I've never had a big party before and this seems like a good milestone excuse. I miss my friends and family.

The one thing I can't figure out is: rides. I'd really like to hit just ONE fun ride on my birthday. Partly because it's fun, partly as a homage to David Wilcox's "Top of the Roller Coaster." But now that the Fun Forest is gone, I can't think of any coasters closer than Enchanted Village, which is a long way to haul for just a short portion of the day.

I'd happily settle for just about any roller coaster-type ride, even if it's a kiddie ride the size of your living room. Sketchy temporary carnival? No problem. It's the principle of the thing.

A carousel would be great too, but the only one I can think of is in Woodland Park Zoo, and we'd all have to pay zoo admission to get to it.

Ideas?

There's a carousel at Pier 57 on the Waterfront.

According to http://www.rollercoastersofthepacificnw.com/currentcoasters.html , Wild Waves/Enchanted Village is probably your best bet. Remlinger Farms may be slightly closer, but seems about as inconvenient.

To figure out carnivals, it would be helpful to know when your birthday is...

There is an amusement park between Seattle and Tacoma ( it's got roller coasters and a water park) if you're driving from Seattle to Tacoma it's on the left side of the freeway. Don't know if it's open this time of year, but it's the only one I've seen in the area.
