Among other stops in the Seattle area, Air Force One will be landing at Paine Field for Mr. Obama to tour the Boeing factory where it was built, and talk to Boeing workers. They are kinda creepy flying overhead like that, it makes me think we are under attack of something. agness commented 3 months ago | Report 1 0 The Secret Service and the white house are not in the habit of announcing the President's travel plans to anyone but those who are immediately affected. There's no good purpose served by doing that. Also, you'll notice in the days just prior to a visit, any questionable or undesirable in the area will be rounded up/detained... just to make sure. I've seen it happen here. As a side note, about a dozen or more years ago, we flew into Ft. Myers/Napples Airport one evening, after being delayed by a medical emergency and having to put down unexpectedly at another airport (senior citizen had blacked out in flight). When we claimed the baggage and loaded into grandma's station wagon for the ride to Sanibel Island, we were following the line of traffic on the way out of the airport. We got to the last traffic light before leaving the airport property, and a military jeep pulled out in front of us and cop cars blocked the road. They wouldn't explain why, but we were the front most car, inexplicably stopped. The road was clear and empty ahead and remained so. We sat for about a half an hour. Then they waved us on and traffic resumed. Then Vice-President Dan Quayle had just landed, and was being escorted off the property. When he lands, the command is for ALL TO STOP. Even if they aren't in the immediate area, EVERYTHING STOPS. This is a security control measure, so that if anyone or anything moves, they can immediately spot it and close in with high security in force. Sad, but true.
