What's the deal with some restaurants still using styrofoam take-out containers?

I couldn't find information if there is a grace period since the ban went into effect Jan 1. What if some restaurants are still using styrofoam?

The ordinance prohibited the use of polystyrene containers effective January 1, 2009, but allows food service businesses to utilize plastic food service ware until July 1, 2010.

Some places are using plastics made of corn. Is that banned as well?

I suspect that they are prohibited from buying the containers after Jan. 1st, but that they may continue to use up the existing supplies in their wearhouse. But I thought that ban implemented several years ago...

Well, but what if? lt's one thing if they use styrofoam now to store it in originally (until the ban l knew nothing about goes into effect); just don't reheat your food in those containers. That's where the real danger is. Transfer it to a regular container, and you're good.
