  6 1 Because she is both stupid and crazy. Read the Vanity Fair piece and then listen to her resignation ramble. That is all one needs to know. She is a former beauty queen who just likes the attention and admiration of other stupid and crazy people, not in the business of governing. She probably does not even know how to be a governor and is uninterested in doing any of the hard work. I hope this is just another signpost on the path of her decline into obscurity. I don't see the logic or strategery in quitting her post early, so I hope there's some sort of scandal. Palin has the attention of the Republican Party, and virtually every move she makes now is being handled by advisers with an eye on 2012. She has the GW Bush "quality" of being able to unify fiscal conservatives and the social conservatives. For this reason, she is a very dangerous political foe and needs to be taken seriously. Valkyrie commented over 2 years ago | Report 0 0 Considering she gets nothing but bad press about being Governor of Alaska (which might as well be Governor of Mongolia), this allows her to start campaigning now without any actual responsibilities or accountability. Without a public office, there will be no scandals to damage her chances in 2012. Some pundits have said this will hurt her because she won't have as much experience in a couple of years, but two more years in charge of Alaska wasn't going to do much for that perception.   1 0 Nobody really knows at this point, but www.fivethirtyeight.com has some theories and proposes that it's a combination of: 1. She's simply burned out; 2. There's some kind of "other shoe dropping"; (as in, scandal) 3. She's so crazy she thinks this could actually help her for 2012, 2016, etc. In addition to those, people posting comments there have other ideas: that she's planning on "cashing" in with book or tv deal, maybe a reality show; that there's a medical reason or she's pregnant; that she couldn't handle criticism from the press.
