Then happily buy Citgo gas from 7-11, knowing that you're supporting the Bolivarian Revolution of Venezuela, and that's totally good and not bad at all so don't worry. Really, it's fine, stop reading that newspaper. But really oil is a commodity and I don't think it will even theoretically make a damn bit of difference whose poison you buy. I'd work on things that get people to drive less, like buying car insurance by the mile instead of semiannually. Or building density. Or a transit system. Voting with your pocketbook is something lazy people do to feel better, and if you are lazy and only want to feel good, just pretend Hugo Chavez is a hero with no cracks in his shining armor, and don't think about it too much, and happily get your gas at 7-11.   0 0 I read somewhere (don't remember where, eep!) that BP (British Petroleum) puts more money into alternative energy research and development than any other big company, but I'm too busy right now to find you a link to prove it. Honestly it could have been one of their ads, making the information highly suspect. But I've sure felt fuzzier about them since their greenwashing, haven't you? Really though, if drive as little as I did before I sold my car (I pretty much used it for skiing and hiking), I wouldn't worry about it. Just get whatever is cheapest and close. My days are split between two different schools so I need my car to get between them. I'd love to be less dependent on my car, but that's just the way it works for the time being. As cool as it would be work close to home, I'm not really sure if I'd want to work for Seattle Public Schools.
