  6 1 I just wish that they had not dropped the Southcenter Stop that was on the original plans. I think that would have really helped push the popularity of light rail much much more.   2 0 Mount Baker: There's a Lowe's somewhat kitty-corner across the street from the station. It's where I buy most of my musical supplies, so I've already taken advantage of it. (Amplified rakes are fun; q.v. Eugene Chadbourne.) Of course, there's only so much space available on the train, so forget anything much larger than you'd carry on the bus. That said, the trains are still surprisingly sparsely populated, so maybe you can stretch that a bit at the moment. There's also a QFC right by the station.   0 0 Some of the better coffee in the city, and almost certainly the best within walking distance of Link, is the Victrola on Beacon Ave (formerly Galaxie, and not much has changed). It's a nice space, too. Walking out of the station, go left about .3 mi, opposite side of the street. My favorite Mexican restaurant, El Sombrero, is in Columbia City. Among all of the other cool places that other people mentioned. Columbia City is pretty great.   0 0 Oriental Express is a sort of bizarre restaurant/bar south of the SODO station on 4th Ave. It is a bunch of train cars pulled together.
