I have a landline but I only use it to call my cell when I can't find it.

Until a few months ago, I only had a mobile phone since about 2003. Now I live with my girlfriend in a secure building, and we got a landline instead of deciding whose mobile the front door buzzer would go to.

Landlines rock. Far superior sound quality, works fine even in extended regular power outages, etc.

We have a landline through Comcast that we got for the callbox on the front door... except we never hooked a phone up to it. Whoops. Oddly enough, I still see phone calls pop up on the TV (a cool feature), which means Comcast must be giving our number out, because we've never used it.

I'm a cell phone addict, and have been since I got my first terrible Nokia at age 19. Brain cancer, ahoy!

I haven't had a landline since... I dunno, 1999? They are redundant now that everyone has a mobile phone.

Cell only. I don't like to talk on the phone much anyway.

We've never found a cell phone that gets any kind of decent reception inside our house, so we still have a landline. I do like having the type of answering machine you can monitor, and decide whether or not to pick up the call.

I'm a dipshit, as you well know, so I have both -- but my landline phone requires power. I think there's a line-power phone somewhere in the basement I can dig out if I have to.

The only calls I get are ultra-loud political ads.

I'm hoping land-lines make a comeback because I've been seeing some rad vintage phones out there that I'd love to have in my pad.

I haven't had a landline since early 2008. Never missed it, but I'm not a huge phone talker anyway. Qwest charges me $10/mo for the privilege of not having a landline with my internet, which is less than a barebones useless landline.

The only concern I ever had was about 911. I called to report suspicious activity recently, and was able to get through just fine, with one extra step - I have an out-of-state area code, so I had to tell an operater where I was; took about three seconds. In a life-and-death situation I guess those three seconds might count, but I'm not worried enough to hook up a home phone.

i'm in the minority - no cell phone, just a landline. i really enjoy being unreachable and having to survive by my wits when my car breaks down on I-90.

I used my cell only from 1997 to Sept last year, when I got hooked up with that Comcast triple play deal. The phone was included with the internet and cable for 99 bucks. I never use it though, in fact I broke the phone for it accidentally in January and replacing it is not very high upon my list of priorities. Both my boyfriend and I use our cells.

Cellphone only. My "landline" is a VoIP.

I have one of both, but I'm thinking of dumping my ATT long distance in favor of the cell phone. When my senior sainted mother passes, we'll release the land line then.

I only have a cell phone and most of my friends do as well. Even my parents ditched their land line about 5-7 years ago. My best friend Turner is the only local I know personally who has a land line.
