Where would I find information on condemed buildings in the Seattle area?

    Seattle Housing Authority. http://www.seattlehousing.org/contact/ If its commercial you may have to dig deeper, find out who the contractor is, etc. The SHA may be able to help you in that department as well.

    the king county parcel viewer is also a way to find out who owns properties.

    as for information about the actual building, if the building is 'historic,' you might be able to find information on the department of neighborhoods site. for example, you can find info for the old king county medical services building -- the brown brutalist number at terry and howell that was abandoned to make way for a tower that hasn't yet been built -- right here:
