I just moved to Eastlake. Want to help me acclimate?

So I am new to Eastlake.

Are there things I shouldn't miss in the neighborhood? Any gems? Practical things I should know?

Closest PCC or co-op? Farmer's market?
Closest late grocery?
Gas stations? Parks? Places to walk/jog?
Places the gays go to gather? lol...

I hear Pomodoro Ristorante is awesome.

Any help is appreciated. :-)

I love the McTio at Louisa's, but they've never been able to get my coffee right and I've given up trying.

We live at the north end of Eastlake and shop at the Roosevelt Whole Foods, but it's not the closest. Pete's has a great wine selection and does decent deli sandwiches at lunchtime, but their selection is (as others have said) quite limited and the prices are pretty high. They also have shorter hours than most grocery stores.

I think the U-District Farmers Market on Saturday is your best and closest option.

The Rogers Playfield is nice. There's a great little playground, a large field where people let their dogs off leash (despite signs indicating that it's prohibited) and some tennis courts.

Ravish (2956 Eastlake Ave E) just opened and I have been a frequent and very happy customer. The bartender knows what he's doing, the food is great, they have happy hour through 7 PM.

The Tako Truk is fabulous, but they're only going to be around this weekend and next and after that are closing up shop.

Don't miss Le Fournil up by the bridge. Holy cow, the peach croissant... it's good. It's really good. They make all the pastries on the premises in a room with a big window to the street so you can watch if you're so inclined. The fruit tarts and other desserts are also pretty incredible. They're closed Mondays.

If you need to mail packages, check out Lake Union Mail. They're right next to Louisa's and across from Hiroshi's. There's rarely a line, parking (if you need it) isn't a problem, and they'll pack up the stuff you're mailing for you. They charge a small fee (about $1) over the USPS cost (and I assume UPS and FedEx as well) for the service, but I think it's totally worth it to have someone else package everything securely and figure out the most cost-effective shipping method and deal with the headache for me.

    Welcome to the neighborhood!

I love Pazzo's (2307 Eastlake Ave E). They have great pizza and salads, and huge calzones.

I just moved out of Eastlake. I miss it already. To add to Ryan's grocery store advice, I find that the QFC on Broadway and Republican is just as close and easy as the stores in the UD if you have a car. If not, it would be a pain. All the other advice you've been given is totally spot on. Also, the Vietnamese place next to Subway has good pho (not GREAT, but good enough considering the convenience) and SUPER YUMMY bahn mi sandwiches, if you like those. I haven't eaten anything else from there, so I can't speak to the rest of their food. Also, no one mentioned 14 Carrot. Louisa's is a good spot for breakfast, but it's expensive. I think 14 Carrot is delicious for brunch if you're into greasy spoon (i.e. Glo's, Blue Star, Canterbury). Their only downfall is no booze, so no mimosas.

    Tako Truk is your friend.

We're moving out next week, but for the last year Amazon Fresh has been our grocery store of choice.

Avoid Luisa's, it's horrible and full of douchebags. Go to Voxx, it's awesome and beautiful. Hiroshi's makes good sushi, but at a price.

Get your parking permit figured out, and get the friend permit.

    Welcome to the lake!

The closest grocery stores are Whole Foods on westlake or Trader Joes in the U-district. I've heard there will be a safeway going in next to Azteca at some point soon. Pete's Grocery on Lynn and Fairview is an option for something close but their selection is quite limited.
If you play Bocce ball the eastlake Petanque Bouledrome is awesome and most East/West streets end in small 'beach' parks on Lake Union.

Louisa's bakery on Eastlake and Louisa is a great breakfast spot for weekends, try the McTio.
