Any quiet, relaxed, pretty bars in Seattle or the eastside?

I'm looking for a nice, quiet full bar to relax in for some quiet conversation or reading to ring in my birthday. It doesn't have to be super quiet... just not crowded or anything. Something really beautiful would be pretty cool too. Any suggestions?

The Sitting Room in Lower Queen Anne is nice. It's a little bit out of the way (next door to the On The Boards Theater) with a relaxing environment and good drinks.

The Bookstore Bar downtown is nice, too, as long as you don't go around happy hour.

Licorous is always decorous and very pretty, and the Fireside Room at the Sorrento has extremely cushy couches and over-the-top old-fashioned loveliness... and happy birthday!

611 (on Pine/Capitol Hill) is lovely - depending on the night it's usually pretty mellow.

    Disclaimer: I own this place.

Come check out the Grand Cru Wine Bar in Bellevue. http://www.grandcru-winebar.com . We're usually pretty quiet, some nights we get busy. Open seating every night except Weds and Saturday when we provide free dinner by reservation. Follow GrandCruWine on twitter for up to date info.

the hunt club lounge at the sorrento - mellow, a little classy, and a great place to spend an evening during the week - busier on weekends

    What day of the week?

It utterly depends on that factor. Most of my favorite bars around Ballard vary from quiet/dead to jumping and crowded depending on the day. Anywhere in the city is going to be similar.
